Step 1: In a new browser tab, navigate to your Chrome settings and look for Downloads.
Step 2: Click on the “Downloads” option. Here you will see the option “Ask where to save each file before downloading.” If this option is disabled, enable this option by clicking on it, as shown in the image below:

Step 3: Now, the next time you click on the download option to download the HEX file, Chrome will ask you where you want to download the file as you can directly choose the micro:bit drive from here.

Step 1: Open Safari preferences from the browser’s file menu.
Step 2: Go to the “General” tab, which is the first tab. Here you will see the option “file download location”. Click on it and it will present you with three options; one is downloads, the second is ” Ask where to save each file before downloading” and the third is “other”. You need to select the second option, i.e., “Ask where to save each file before downloading”.
Step 3: Now, when you click on the download option to get the HEX file, Safari will ask you where you want to save it, and you can choose the micro:bit drive directly from here.

Step 1: Open the Microsoft Edge browser settings by clicking on the options menu in the top right corner of the browser window.
Step 2: In settings, click on advanced settings and then click on “Downloads” and set the download option to “Ask me what to do with each download”.
