- Once completed a verification link will be sent to the email for the online application.
- Click on the link and then verify the email. Once the email is verified you can complete the registration process.
- Log into the application with the email address and password that you provided while creating an account.
- In case you have forgotten your password, there is no need to panic. You can click on “Forgot Password” and enter your email id. You will receive an email to which you can click and change the password. Remember that the old password is not valid once the new password has been set.
- Follow each step on the pages and complete the application once you have logged in.
- Any medical or behavioral conditions including disabilities should also be listed so that adjustments can be made for the students with certain disabilities.
- If needed, upload documents that are relevant. you can also send and receive messages for the documents once you have submitted them.
- You can choose up to 2 opportunity classes as preferences.
- It is not mandatory that you have to finish it in a single go. If you have any doubts or want to search for some documents you can always save your application and resume it later.
- Do check if you have entered all the documents and if there is no error in the application form. If you find an error later after subletting you can still log in and make changes.
- Once you have submitted your application do check for a confirmation mail. You can also view the entire application after submission.
- Any changes can be made only within the given dates and every time you make a change don’t forget to click on the submit button. This ensures that your application is corrected and submitted to the OC platform.
In case of any difficulty in the application process you can reach out to the Selective Education Team.
How to change the OC application?
Withdrawal of OC applications, uploading documents, and changes can be made as many times as possible. It is however always better, that you provide the correct info in the first go to avoid any time spent correcting the submission.
In case you have provided incorrect information or you are not sure whether changes can be made to a particular column or not, you can write to the Selective Education Team.
Follow the steps to make changes in the application:
- Log into the application portal
- Click on the three dots down the ‘Action’ column
- On the right side, you will come across options in which updated details can be found
- Update the necessary documents, save, and click on submit button
Note: School choices are one of the outcomes that cannot be changed after the last date. Hence, work on the school choices and decide before even applying so that you don’t have to rush at the last minute.
You will receive a confirmation mail that contains the application number after submitting the entire application.
How to apply without internet access?
If you don’t have a stable internet connection or broadband network access you can use a public library. You can also use emails, Hotmail, or Yahoo to log in and start the application process.
Those with a disability that prevents them from using computers can always get help from the Selective Education Team who will fill out the entire application form for you.
Parental information and other details
To ensure your child’s admission is handled expediently, it’s important to supply key information for the parent involved in the decision-making process.
If a custodial parent resides outside of their principal city of residence and has equal rights with respect to the student, they must submit valid contact details along with proof that they are legally entitled to make decisions on behalf of said individual. Teachers will also require reports containing background data such as academic prowess or medical/behavioral records if applicable.
Those applying from abroad should include evidence showing exceptional merit which may comprise an IQ test score plus reading & math proficiency levels among other things – all essential considerations prior to granting entry into a program!
Candidates from non-government schools have an opportunity to apply for the program, as long as they fill out and submit a privacy notice approved by their parents in addition to the application form.
Additionally, students with disabilities are encouraged to document details regarding any impairments when applying.
A principal page is an additional option where the principal of the non-government school is requested to fill the page, complete and stamp it and return back to the team. If the principal is not willing for the candidate to go choose an OC class then an explanation letter stating the reason must be present in the dashboard. Parents are requested to fill out this page and submit it regardless of the principal’s signature.
Overseas and late applications
As long as the overseas and interstate students are citizens of Australia or New Zealand they are eligible to fill out the application and sit in the opportunity class test. Parents must indicate which suburbs will be suitable for them to sit for the test.
The opportunity class principles stand firm to their rules. No last applications are supported. Last applications can be made possible only when parents are applying for their children’s placement who are in rural borders. For all others this choice is locked. No late applications are allowed and it is necessary to submit all the desired documents before the closure of the portal.
The application process is quite simple and all the processes can be finished in one go if you have the necessary documents.
