Jason - Get to know your vocal coach
My name is Jason Lane. I was trained at New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, one of the most selective and commercially focused music programs in the world. Since then, I have spent my career writing songs, producing records, performing, and developing music designed to connect with large audiences. I have written and produced charting songs and built my skill set around the same techniques used by today’s top artists, producers, and songwriters. My teaching style is practical, individualized, and results-driven. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, whether they want to sing, play piano, guitar, or bass, write original songs, or produce professional-quality tracks. Students learn by doing: writing songs, recording music, analyzing hit records, and using the same tools professionals rely on every day. Technology is central to my approach. I teach digital audio workstations (DAWs), MIDI programming, vocal production, arrangement, and modern recording techniques. Students gain marketable skills that can lead to opportunities in songwriting, production, performance, and content creation. In today’s music industry, talent alone is not enough. Students must understand what makes a song memorable and commercially successful. I teach how melody, lyrics, arrangement, production, and performance work together to create music with real hit potential. If you want to learn how to write, produce, and market songs that connect with audiences, I can help you develop the creative and professional skills to do it.
