Thea - Know your tutor
I am Thea Maestrecampo, with over 5 years of experience teaching Mathematics. My expertise covers from elementary to middle school math such as basic math, pre - algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, probability, statistics, pre - calculus, and even basic calculus. I always prioritize my students' personalized learning experience such gamification and math tricks. Of course, I also consider the parent's request such as improvement of grades, homework help, mastering math concepts, and preparation for exams - even advancing them. I always include assessing the student first, giving them practice drills with math tricks along the way, and making sure they appreciate the lesson and enjoying the class as well. I also worked with students who had different learning needs that includes difficulty in learning attention, comprehension, and processing information. With these experiences, I learned how to break down the tasks into smaller and manageable parts, used simple instructions, and incorporated interactive tools online to help them understand the Math concept even better. Overall, all of these experiences strengthened my ability to be emphatic, creative, and student - centered. Now, I value inclusivity and student - centered learning.

The Tutor and Student practiced solving quadratic equations and determining the number of solutions using the quadratic formula and the discriminant. They worked through multiple examples, focusing on algebraic manipulation and careful handling of integers to prepare for an upcoming test.
Discriminant and Number of Solutions
Equation Simplification and Standard Form
Handling Negative Integers and Signs
Quadratic Formula Application
The student and tutor reviewed a practice test focusing on quadratic equations, including completing the square and finding roots. They practiced simplifying radicals and using the discriminant to determine the number of solutions, with plans for further practice on algebraic equations and discriminant calculations in the next session.
Completing the Square
The Discriminant
Simplifying Radicals
Solving Quadratic Equations for Roots
The tutor and student worked on solving quadratic equations using the quadratic formula and constructing quadratic equations from given roots, including those with fractions and radicals. They practiced identifying coefficients, performing fraction arithmetic, and applying the sum and product of roots to form equations. The student will prepare for upcoming tests.
Quadratic Formula Application
Constructing Quadratic Equations from Roots
Handling Roots with Radicals
The student practiced solving quadratic equations using the quadratic formula with the tutor. They worked through several examples, focusing on correctly identifying coefficients, substituting values, and performing calculations manually and with a calculator. The tutor assigned homework consisting of two quadratic equations to solve independently.
