Ana - Your piano teacher
I'm a teacher passionate about teaching music, specifically Piano. I have a degree in music and a master's degree in music therapy, that has given me the tools to improve my teaching skills, and I also have extensive experience as a teacher, that has helped me understand that everyone has their own unique learning style and pace. I'm empathetic and effective in analyzing student's musical and educational abilities, enabling me to create a personalized, functional and effective Work plan on the piano. As a music teacher, I've worked with children, helping them discover and enhance their musical abilities through play and engaging activities that motivate them to continue learning. As a mother, I know that what is taught with love is forever engraved in the minds and hearts of children, and that is my greatest advantage when teaching.
Ana graduated from Central University of Catalonia

My teaching method is based on three important phases: the first one is to diagnose the student's prior knowledge of music and the piano, to know where to start, taking into account any incorrect techniques learned or false beliefs about themselves that have prevented them from advancing in their learning. The second phase is to teach correct basic piano technique through exercises and songs that allow students to develop skills such as independence, coordination and hand agility. The repertoires chosen will take into account the student's musical tastes and preferences, wich maintaining their motivation and allowing them to participate in their educational process by contributing topics or songs they would like to learn on the piano. The third aspect of my teaching methodology is to allow students to realize their progress and feel challenged to learn something increasingly difficult, without pushing their learning pace, but still allowing progress to be seen. The study plan will be highly personalized according to each student's charactetistics and educational needs.

Piano concepts taught by Ana
The Tutor and Student worked on piano exercises focusing on major keys, rhythmic figures (quarter, eighth, and sixteenth notes), and chord practice. They applied these concepts to a song, covering chord identification, inversions, and rhythm, with homework assigned for continued practice.
Major Scales and Key Signatures
Chord Progressions in D Major
Chord Inversions and Bass Notes
Rhythmic Figures and Syllable Association
The Tutor and Student worked on piano technique, specifically scales, arpeggios in F major, and the introduction and chords of a new song. They practiced specific fingerings, complex rhythms, and chord progressions, with a plan to continue practicing the song and learn new material in the next session.
F Major Scale & Fingerings
Arpeggio Practice in F Major
Chord Progressions and Rhythmic Patterns
Metronome Use for Timing
The student and tutor worked on various musical rhythms, including quarter notes, eighth notes, and sixteenth notes, using mnemonic devices like "chocolate" and "apple." They practiced playing these rhythms at different tempos and analyzed specific measures within a song to improve rhythmic accuracy, with a focus on dotted quarter and dotted half notes. Homework involves continuing to practice these rhythms and attempting to apply them on the piano.
Rhythmic Note Values and Syllable Association
Dotted Quarter Note Duration
Role of Hands in Rhythm and Tempo
Understanding Note Ties
The Tutor and Student worked on piano technique, specifically the F major scale and arpeggios, and then practiced a melody and its accompanying chords. They also introduced a metronome for rhythm practice and discussed strategies for coordinating both hands while playing melodies and harmonies. The session concluded with the Tutor sharing practice materials.
