My name is Clara Castillo and I love teaching programming languages. I possess a master's degree in computer science from the University of Maryland and I have 7 years of teaching experience, coaching more than 230 students. I became a tutor because of my love for programming languages and my desire to put my accumulated knowledge and expertise to the test. I am a very outgoing person and love to go out in my free time to explore something I have never seen before. Teaching methodology
I would like to begin every session with a new piece of information relevant to the subject, either shared by me or by the student. It not only helps set the mood for the learning to take place but it also improves the students' understanding of the subject, even if it's just by a bit. I would then go over the concepts that the student faces issues with and try my best to resolve their doubts within that session. I would also give students small programming exercises to foster active participation and sharpen the mind of the student.
