Your english tutor - Toey

As a former third-culture kid who moved between 9 schools across 4 continents with unique education systems, I am thoroughly aware of the systemic barriers that students and educational professionals face in varying academic environments. I am in the higher education field because my experiences made me dedicated to making post-secondary education more accessible and equitable. My commitment to education is reflected in my 8 years of teaching experience in over 4 countries (spanning elementary, high school, and university contexts), my 4 years of professional experience in student affairs and services, and my 4 years of educational research experience. As an online English tutor with 2 years of experience through Wiingy, I designed and delivered lessons that developed high school students’ writing and analytical skills and improved ELL (English Language Learner) students’ grammar and fluency. I achieved a 4.9/5 student rating, a 70% student sign-up rate, and an 80% lesson renewal rate by tailoring lessons to students’ and parents’ unique learning goals and interests. As of today, I have scheduled and taught over 150 lessons for students in 5 different time zones.
