Cathy - Get to know your vocal coach
I am a Graduate of The University of West London with a Masters in Music and awarded Fellow of the London College of Music in Classical Singing. I have frequently performed internationally as soloist for various Choral societies and choirs. I have worked as a vocal coach and teacher for over 15 years with various institutions including Canterbury Christchurch University, privately, at stage schools and with Primary Performing Arts Theatre in Education Company. I have a keen interest in Music therapy and organize and participates in various projects promoting the benefits of singing for health and well being in hospitals, children’s homes, prisons, care homes and more recently collaborating on breathing sessions for long Covid sufferers. I aim to enhance your vocal skills and performance techniques regardless of whether you are experienced or a complete beginner. My lessons are designed to boast your confidence and musicality. They then worked on "Colors of the Wind," concentrating on consonant articulation for improved projection and the interpretive balance between text and tone. The session also included practicing "A Million Dreams," with an emphasis on supporting low notes, and a review of "When Will My Life Begin?" which demonstrated improved control over higher notes. The Tutor encouraged the Student to continue singing.
