Carlos Lobo - Spanish tutor in Mesquite
Born and raised in Mérida, Venezuela; often known locally as the city of gentlemen or the students’ city; Carlos developed an early appreciation for learning, culture, and education. Growing up alongside his older brother in this university-centered city, he was constantly surrounded by academic life, intellectual curiosity, and a strong sense of community. While he maintained close ties to family in the countryside, his true passion led him toward travel, languages, and intercultural exchange.
Carlos studied Hispano-American and Venezuelan Literature at Universidad de Los Andes, where he built a solid foundation in language, literature, and critical thinking. As his vocation for education became clearer, he pursued professional development focused on teaching and pedagogy, including academic training at the University of Maryland–Baltimore and the University of Arizona.
He began teaching at the age of 19 and, by 22, had fully discovered his passion for language education. In 2017, Carlos moved to Colombia, where he expanded his professional impact as Head of the French and English Department at a leading private school. This role strengthened his commitment to mentoring students and supporting fellow educators through meaningful language-learning processes.
That same year, he joined Live Lingua as a Spanish instructor, transitioning into a full-time role in 2022. As a Student Advisor and later an Academic Ambassador, Carlos is deeply committed to helping learners identify their goals, choose the right path, and enjoy the process—firmly believing that effective learning happens best when curiosity and fun go hand in hand. Teaching is his passion
