How long should students wait for ACT scores?
Typically, ACT scores are released after 2 to 8 weeks of the exam date. Scores for multiple-choice questions are available after two weeks of the exam date. However, sometimes it takes up to 8 weeks to release the scores.
Scores for the writing section are available two weeks after the scores of multiple-choice questions.
This is because essays written for the writing section are tested and scored by two trained readers. Each reader gives the essay a rating between 1 (lowest) and 6 (highest).
It is important for students to constantly check their MyACT account and ACT’s official website for updates regarding score release.
