What to do if you need to end a lesson early
If you’re unable to continue tutoring a student due to unforeseen circumstances, it’s important to follow the correct process to ensure a smooth transition for the student while maintaining professionalism.
Steps to follow if you need to stop tutoring
- Inform the student in advance:
- Use Wiingy Chat to let the student (or their parents) know as soon as possible.
- If appropriate, suggest a final session to wrap up key concepts.
- Update Wiingy support:
- Reach out to Wiingy Support via the Wiingy Tutor App or email to request a tutor reassignment.
- Clearly state the reason for discontinuation to help facilitate a smooth handover.
- Ensure all lessons are scheduled & completed:
- Before stopping, confirm that all completed lessons are properly recorded in the Wiingy Calendar.
- If your camera was not on during a session, the system may not record the lesson, affecting your payout.
- Your student is notified:
- When you cancel, the student is immediately notified via email and in-app messaging.
- Wiingy Support will work to reassign the student to another tutor so they can continue their lessons without delay.
- Reassignment process:
- If you’re unable to reach Wiingy Support in time, don’t worry—Wiingy will automatically reassign your student to another qualified tutor to ensure a seamless transition.
- Check your earnings dashboard:
- Review pending earnings in the Earnings Section of the Wiingy Tutor Portal (tutors.wiingy.com).
- If there are any discrepancies, report them to Wiingy Support immediately.
How this affects your tutor profile
- Frequent Midway Cancellations May Impact Performance Metrics:
- A high number of unfinished lessons may affect future demo allotments.
- It could also impact your eligibility for Supertutor Status. Learn more in Track your Supertutor status.
- Avoid No-Shows or Abrupt Cancellations:
- Tutors who stop tutoring without informing students or Wiingy Support may receive a Tutor No Show (TNS) record, which can affect future lesson assignments. See Tutor no-show policy: how to handle it.
