About the tutor

Hi fellow musicians, I'm Julianne Brown, a music enthusiast and performing artist specializing in violin. I bring an eclectic knowledge and experience to my students. My teaching philosophy includes tangible and positive instruction where students feel encouraged to explore and grow at their own pace. I've thoroughly been enjoying my music career and am grateful to engage with others who are eager to start theirs. Music is a profoundly beautiful language and I believe it's a gift to be shared. I'm excited to connect with individuals that are ready to develop a new craft or fine tune an old one. My expertise is violin, but I also teach basic piano and guitar skills for my students that desire to expand into multiple instrument understanding. I carefully curate my lessons to suit the skill range and goals of each student, whether they are beginners or seasoned professionals. By incorporating a mix of traditional techniques and modern practices, I strive to make each lesson engaging and rewarding. I also take joy in knowing that what music can add to everyone's life is fun and meaning! Whether you're a school student, adult beginner, or professional musician looking to enhance your skills, I am here to support you on your musical journey. Let's make music together!

Teaching methodology

As a Violin tutor, I specialize in teaching students of all skill levels, including beginner adults, professionals, and school/college students. I start my students in the Suzuki method which is heavily influenced by ear training, and we can start with students as young as 2 years old with parental involvement! My teaching methodology is centered around creativity, interactivity, demonstration, engagement, hands-on practice, and practical application. I have personally learned the most from my teachers that were empathetic and enthusiastic. Everyone's music journey is uniqued and the best teachers know how to curate an experience that keeps you motivated and challenged with the best of balance. I love helping students develop the creative expression required for music while focusing on technical skills and creativity in performance and composition that make violin applicable in multiple settings. I encourage my students to create and perform their own music, fostering a deep connection with their instrument. Additionally, I provide personalized suggestions for improvement to ensure that each student reaches their full potential and excels in their musical journey.
