Unleash Your Voice with a Seasoned Singing Tutor! 5+ Years of Experience Providing Engaging, Creative, and Supportive Lessons to 10+ Students. Discover Your Unique Style and Flourish in Music!

Hello, fellow musician! My name is Emily Shaull, and I would love to teach you! I am a caring, creative, and supportive Music tutor who will challenge you to take your musical skills to the next level! I've always loved to sing. My musical journey began at a very young age when I began taking piano lessons with my grandmother. As I grew, I became increasingly involved with music through a number of various avenues-- musical theater, choir, leading musical and religious events, private piano and voice lessons, marching band, and symphonic band! One of my highlights of my younger years was to tour professionally in parts of Europe. I was able to work with some incredible instructors. They are a huge part of why I chose to go into the Music field. So why else did I choose to teach music? 1. People. I love people! One of my passions is to invest into others and healthily challenge them to grow in their giftings. 2. Let's face it--I'm a huge music theory nerd. I was actually a Teacher's Assistant during college for Music Theory! 3. Music is an ART. It is one that sets my heart on fire and makes me dance inside. I love how music can show such deep expression and tell intricate stories to its listeners. 4. Singing is like breathing to me. It is something I truly love. I also am in awe of how our amazing bodies can make such a wide breadth of beautiful sounds! We ourselves are instruments. So there you have it! Music is basically my life. Would you like me to help you to make it an even more wonderful part of yours as well? (:

Course Contents

This course framework provides a clear and detailed description of the course requirements necessary for student success. The framework specifies what students must know, be able to do, and understand, with a focus on core principles and theories of the discipline. The framework also encourages instruction that prepares students for advanced chemistry coursework.

The AP Chemistry course framework is organized into nine commonly taught units of study that provide one possible sequence for the course. As always, you have the flexibility to organize the course content as you like.

UnitDetailsExam Weighting (Multiple-Choice Section)
Unit 1: Atomic Structure and PropertiesYou’ll learn about the composition of atoms and ways scientists measure and categorize these building blocks of matter.7%–9%
Unit 2: Compound Structure and PropertiesYou’ll discover the range of chemical bonds and how their structure can affect the properties of the molecules created.7%–9%
Unit 3: Properties of Substances and MixturesYou’ll explore how atoms come together to create solids, liquids, and gases, and how forces between particles govern the properties of everything around you.18%–22%
Unit 4: Chemical ReactionsYou’ll learn how to differentiate physical and chemical processes, and how to measure and express chemical reactions via chemical equations.7%–9%
Unit 5: KineticsYou’ll explore various methods to observe the changes that occur during a chemical reaction, the factors that influence reaction rate, and how it relates to a series of elementary reactions.7%–9%
Unit 6: ThermochemistryYou’ll learn about energy changes in chemical reactions and how a transfer of energy can change a substance’s physical qualities.7%–9%
Unit 7: EquilibriumYou’ll chart how chemical reactions change over time, what causes substances to reach equilibrium, and how systems react when that equilibrium is disturbed.7%–9%
Unit 8: Acids and BasesYou’ll learn more about pH, the qualities and properties of acids and bases, and how they interact in chemical reactions.11%–15%
Unit 9: Thermodynamics and ElectrochemistryYou’ll be introduced to the concept of “thermodynamic favorability” for reactions, meaning how likely they are to occur given energy changes and environmental factors, and how chemical reactions can be used to generate electricity.7%–9%
