Meet Thom

About your tutor

Hi there! I'm Thom Isaacs, and I teach Singing, Piano, and Guitar here at Wiingy. I've been a musician for as long as I can remember, which led me to complete a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance and Production followed by a Master's degree in Digital Music and Sound Arts. My teaching philosophy revolves around making learning enjoyable and interactive. I believe in tailoring lessons to suit the individual needs and learning styles of my students, ensuring a customized approach for all levels. With my expertise as a multi-instrumentalist, I aim to engage students in a creative and inspiring way to help them achieve their musical goals. Let's make music together!

Teaching methodology

I believe strongly in the power of integrating science with more traditional music pedagogy - I believe that the best way to play an instrument is to understand how it works at the fundamental level. I try to bring this into my teaching even with my younger students, offering age-appropriate explanations for why things are done a certain way. At the end of the day, I want to ignite a similar passion for music-making in my students that I experience on a day-to-day basis. In our lessons we will be covering the nuts-and-bolts of your chosen instrument, as well as higher level concepts such as stage presence, stamina, and how to communicate with other musicians.
