Adam - Get to know your vocal coach
Hello, and welcome to my instructor page! During my twenty-five year professional career, I have collaborated with Grammy-nominated songwriter and folksinger Tom Brosseau, multi-Grammy nominated producer John Moyer from Disturbed, and producer Jason Schimmel from Red Fiction and Secret Chiefs 3. I have also made appearances as a guest vocalist with Norwegian Progressive Metal band Leprous, and Progressive Rock Orchestra The Invincible Czars. I am also an original songwriter and performing artist currently based in Austin, Texas. My specialties in vocal teaching will cover basic to advanced music theory, sight reading, rhythm, pitch and interval recognition (solfeggio). I will enrich your natural development of tone, style, and control, and of course, help you identify and nurture that 'it' factor that makes you the unique artist that you are. I would love to work with students of any skill level - from beginner to advanced. Let's get started!

Singing lessons highlights
My music teaching background includes both ensemble and individual lesson plans, in both academic classroom and performance hall environments. My teaching emphasis is holistic at the core, with the flexibility to transition into the more technical, depending on the circumstances and the particular learning objective. Students will be encouraged to bring songs they love into our lesson plans, and they will also be encouraged to spontaneously create their own melodies through improvisational exercises. My main focus as a vocal teacher is to promote best practices, with strong emphasis on fundamentals - anatomical awareness, functional breathing, active listening and, later on, stage presence. Only with a competent understanding of these core aspects of singing can students achieve their creative and performance goals. My objective as a vocal teacher is for my students to leave each lesson with a greater degree of confidence in themselves, to take the knowledge I share with them into their professional singing careers, or to simply continue on with their lives possessing a deeper understanding of singing and music in general.
