Cody - Know your guitar teacher
With over 12 years or experience and a Bachelor’s degree in classical music (guitar/composition), I am Cody, your go-to expert for guitar lessons. Specializing in various styles like classical and percussive finger style, I offer personalized learning in chord progressions, theory, finger style and more. From beginners to advanced players, I tailor lessons to suit all skill levels. I have experience playing classical in school and rock and pop in various bands, but my true love is avant garde - outside the box in terms of techniques, theory, style, even gimmick. I’ve played and written everything from electro-acoustic to aleatoric and 12-tone music, and am intrigued by anything with a sense of unfamiliarity. Who says we just have to play guitar? We can play drums and guitar… on our guitar. We can play finger style, with a pick, classical, metal - there’s endless possibilities and directions! I’m ready to discover them all together!

Guitar lessons quick guide
I offer personalized tutoring in most styles of guitar. My lessons blend progressive instruction with engaging techniques, theory intogratiin, ear training, and sight reading. With over 100 students taught, I cater to guitar enthusiasts of all levels, including kids, adults, seniors, and learners with exceptionalities including learning disabilities and visually impaired and blind students. By following a comprehensive curriculum, I strengthen students skills and foster a deep understanding of the instrument, setting them up for musical success. My greatest strength as a teacher is the wide array of approaches, experiences and influences I’ve had - while pop and rock can be a lot of fun, I crave something a little more interesting; sometimes that means a little weirder. Sometimes it means technically or theoretically challenging. Whatever you’re hoping to accomplish, we can explore together - and I’m excited to get you more excited about guitar!
