Pasan - Know your tutor

Hi I am an experienced mathematics tutor with many years of helping students of all ages build confidence and achieve strong results. My teaching style focuses on understanding each learner’s strengths and areas for improvement, then creating tailored lessons that make even complex topics clear. I emphasise logical reasoning, problem‑solving, and conceptual understanding rather than rote memorisation, so students can apply maths with confidence. Having taught across multiple curriculums, I adapt easily to individual goals—whether it’s exam preparation, catching up on fundamentals, or excelling in advanced study. My aim is always to make maths engaging, accessible, and empowering. Maths is all about having a go at solving a problem and to appreciate cool theorems that have stood the test of time. Fun fact, newton invented calculus at the same speed as high school students studying calculus.

Class overview

My teaching method centres on personalised learning—I assess each student’s strengths and needs, then adapt lessons for their goals. I focus on deep conceptual understanding rather than memorisation, using clear explanations, practical examples, and real-world applications. Lessons are interactive and encourage questions, so students build logical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Progress is tracked with regular feedback, and exam strategies are included for students preparing for tests. I also emphasise patience and positive reinforcement to build confidence, making maths enjoyable and accessible for all levels. Using a variety of teaching tools, including visual aids and digital resources, I create engaging lessons tailored to different learning styles. This approach helps students master maths confidently and independently.
