About your tutor

Hello, I'm Christopher, a Music tutor specializing in Guitar and Singing. I went to Toledo School for The Arts where I received my Diploma and a Certificate of Music Performance. I have 16 years experience studying music and 14 years professionally performing and touring all over the United States. I am versed in blues, rock, funk, pop, jazz, bluegrass, slide guitar, finger picking, and much more. My Teaching Philosophy revolves around ensuring that learning is engaging and enjoyable for my students. Students should walk away with something they can use, instead of overwhelming information to grind. I believe there is a difference between playing music and making music. I approach lessons with a focus on your individual strengths and needed areas of improvement. I prefer to offer interactive lessons, practical exercises, and a supportive learning environment for college students, adults, and professionals at all levels of experience. Whether you're a beginner just starting out or a stage veteran, we can dive in and work toward making the kind of music you want to hear in the world. What kind of musician do you want to be? Do you know? We could find out together. Schedule a session with me and let's see if I can help.

Teaching methodology

As a Guitar and Singing tutor, I specialize in teaching College, Adult, and Professional students of all levels. My teaching style is interactive, concept-focused, and detailed. I believe in a demonstrative approach where I show students exactly how to improve their skills. I provide a structured and systematic learning experience, along with visual AND hands-on practical exercises. I encourage my students to create and perform their own music as well as learn the music they love. I provide a strong focus on technique, expression, and creativity. You should be able to make music, not just play it. You should be able to speak with your instrument in phrases as one does with words. I'm willing to break down and share piece by piece all of my field experience and everything I've learned over 16 years touring and performing all over the United states. By creating tailored lesson plans that emphasize theory, practice, and application; I ensure that each student receives personalized attention to help them reach their full potential. With me, students can expect a dynamic and engaging learning experience that helps them maintain, improve upon, and/ or discover the kind of musician they want to become.
