Engaging Economics lessons with hands-on problem solving

I am a Mathematical Science graduate from the University of Guelph. I specialized in economics and quantum communication. I have completed research on quantum communication and its connection to graph theory. I am a lifelong learner, and I intend to help students find their way through school and university carefully, allowing students to build intuition in questioning. A key to building strong students is to encourage interaction with the material critically, not in an endless drilling of individual problems, but to allow students to grasp the material through stories and exposure to the logical steps required to solve a problem.

My strategy for tutoring mathematics and economics involves exposing students to the general material they may have seen in class, offering clear explanations, and paving over cracks in their knowledge through critical thinking questions and practice. I tailor my tutoring sessions to my students' needs and ensure they receive help in writing notes, completing homework assignments, and preparing for examinations. While helping students this way, I see growth in their ability to solve problems independently, even when they have not seen the same question before.
