Derek Roland - Guitar tutor

FAST results in LESS time on guitar: you've come to the right place. Demonstration, implementation, leading to your transformation! Using easy methods 'outside the box' and getting you equipped with the right mindset and toolset to build your skillset, you'll gain a lot of skill in a short time!

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player looking to refine your skills, I am here to help you achieve your musical goals! I'm Derek Roland. I've been teaching others guitar for over 20 years; and have been playing myself for 27 years. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to be guided by a player who has taught literally thousands over the years; and has lived and taught internationally. Over a span of time, I developed a formula for better results when practicing- one to maximize time, two to maximize outcomes of better playing. You may have gotten overwhelmed in the information age, or plateaued, or maybe get confused trying to figure out how things work together on guitar- but it doesn’t have to be that way. You’ve come to the right place to make all those connections second nature in your playing. I went to school for Guitar in Jazz Guitar Studies and started instructing professionally while going to college. On the side, I write guitar E Books, create songs and instructional material. My teaching style is motivational, interactive, and focused on problem-solving within the realm of music.

Unlock Your Musical Potential with a Creative and Empathetic Guitar Tutor! 7+ Years of Experience, 100+ Students Taught. Learn Through Your Favorite Songs, Dive into Theory, and Develop Expressive Musicality for a Joyful and Progressive Learning Experience!

Hi! I’m Tomi — guitarist, singer-songwriter, and music educator with over 18 years of experience. I started playing guitar at 12, and since then, music has been a way of life. I’ve learned, played, written, and taught music with the belief that it should be lived, shared, and built in community. I studied with teachers who shaped my path: Esteban Martínez, Rodrigo Molina, Kelo Murua, Ova Brizuela, and Daniel Soria (guitar), Ignacio Serfaty (vocals), Gregorio Díaz (piano), and Nicolás Baigorria (drums). I also studied the Advanced Guitar Performance program at La Colmena, a prestigious music school in Córdoba, Argentina. I was part of Carola Mobile as guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, and later joined Los Buenos Tiempos — a collaborative project where I also worked as producer. We released three albums and two singles. Now I’m focused on my solo work. I began teaching guitar in 2017 and became co-director of Garage in 2018 — the same school where I once studied. There, we developed a method based on songs and group rehearsals to explore technical and theoretical concepts. Since 2020, we’ve adapted this to online teaching, creating digital content while keeping the warmth and energy of live lessons. My method adapts to each student’s level and goals. I aim to make each class an enjoyable space to play, understand, and grow through the music you love.
