How to use the course map to plan your Pre-AP courses?

To use the Pre-AP to AP course map to plan your Pre-AP courses, follow these steps:

  • Review the course map. The course map shows which Pre-AP courses are directly related to specific AP courses. It also shows which Pre-AP courses cover topics from other AP courses.
  • Identify your interests and goals. Think about which subjects you are interested in and which AP courses you would like to take in the future.
  • Look for natural progressions. See which Pre-AP courses are prerequisites for the AP courses you want to take. 
  • Plan your courses. 

Example of how to use the Pre-AP to AP course map:

  • Interest: Science
  • Goal: To take AP Biology and AP Environmental Science
  • Course selection: Pre-AP Biology

Plan: Take Pre-AP Biology in my sophomore year.

For example, if you want to take AP Biology and AP Environmental Science, you could take Pre-AP Biology in your sophomore year or junior year.

It is important to note that not all schools offer Pre-AP courses.
