How to send AP scores using your AP answer sheet?

Every year you take AP Exams, you have the option of sending one free AP score report. You can do this by entering the four-digit code of the college, university, or scholarship program on your AP answer sheet. (Your AP Booklet will include an index with codes for most schools and universities.) This is a fantastic way to have your AP scores sent to the college of your choice for free during your senior year!

    • Every year that you take AP Exams, you can send your results to one free recipient. • You can look up previous AP exam dates
    • You can look up when you last took an AP Exam in the last five years.

How to withhold AP scores?

Students can withhold one or more AP scores from colleges and scholarship programs by submitting a formal request to the College Board. This prevents the selected institutions from seeing those scores.

There are a few reasons why students might choose to withhold an AP score. They may question their performance on the exam, want to view it before their college does, or simply don’t want the score to factor into their college admissions decision.

Unlike canceling an AP score, withholding does not permanently delete that score. The score will still be sent to your high school and can be released to colleges and scholarship programs at a later date.

To withhold an AP score, students must submit a request to the College Board by June 15 of the year they took the exam. The request can be submitted online or by mail.

What Is AP Score Cancellation?

The College Board allows students to cancel their AP scores. This removes the score from your score report and prevents colleges from seeing it.

Unlike withholding, canceling an AP score is permanent and cannot be reversed.

If you want to cancel an AP score, you must submit the AP Score Cancellation Form by June 15 of the year you took the exam. The form can be downloaded from the College Board website.

There is no fee to cancel an AP score.
