What is the AP Alumni Network?

The AP Alumni Network is a community of former AP students who are passionate about the Advanced Placement (AP) Program and interested in sharing their experiences with policymakers to increase educational opportunities for students nationwide.

The AP Alumni Network is part of the College Board’s AP Advocacy Program, a community of over 1,900 teachers who use their voices to expand AP access and demonstrate the impact of the program to legislators across the country.

AP Alumni Network members join state and federal AP advocacy events and activities to share their stories about how AP prepared them for success, saved them time and money, and helped them secure meaningful careers.

How to join the AP Alumni Network?

To join the AP Alumni Network, you must have taken at least one AP course in high school. 

To join the AP Alumni Network:

  1. Go to the AP Alumni Network website.
  2. Click on the “Join the AP Alumni Network” button.
  3. You will be redirected to the “AP Alumni Contact Form.”
  4. Enter your name, email address, graduation year, degree, major, minor, LinkedIn profile URL, current employer, current job title, city, state, country, and phone number.
  5. Click on the “Submit” button.

How long does it take to sign up?

It takes less than 5 minutes to sign up for the AP Alumni Network.

Once you have joined the network, you will be able to participate in all of the activities and programs offered to members. You will also be able to connect with other AP students and alumni in your area.

What are the benefits of joining the AP Alumni Network?

The benefits of joining the AP Alumni Network:

  • You can share your AP story with policymakers to help them understand the value of the program and to advocate for policies that support AP access for all students.
  • You can connect with other AP alumni and build a network of support.
  • You can make a difference in the lives of students by helping to expand access to the AP Program.

What is the impact of the AP Alumni Network?

The AP Alumni Network plays a vital role in supporting the AP Program and its students. Through advocacy, mentorship, and financial support, network members help to:

  • Expand access to AP courses for all students, regardless of their background or circumstances.
  • Secure funding for the AP Program, ensuring that students have the resources they need to succeed.
  • Raise awareness of the benefits of the AP Program, including college readiness, college credit, and financial savings.
  • Promote policies that support college readiness for all students.
  • Mentor current AP students, sharing their own experiences and providing guidance and support.

AP Alumni Network members also serve as mentors to current AP students. By sharing their own AP experiences, network members can help students understand the value of the program and prepare them for college.
