About the tutor

Hi, I’m Varnika Vaid! I’ve been tutoring for over two years now, and teaching has become one of my greatest passions. With a background in Computer Systems Engineering, where I studied electrical engineering mathematics, I know firsthand how intimidating subjects like Math and Physics can feel. In fact, I used to struggle with math myself—feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. But everything changed when I got a personal math tutor who helped me truly understand the concepts, and I actually began to enjoy learning. Now, I want to do the same for my students. I love teaching because I believe in the power of education to transform lives, just as it transformed mine. Helping students overcome their fears and develop confidence is incredibly rewarding. I follow a student-centric approach, using techniques that worked for me, along with interactive tools like Menti quizzes and whiteboard learning, to keep lessons engaging and accessible. I’m here to break down complex topics, build your confidence, and show you that GCSE Math and Physics aren’t as intimidating as they seem. I’ll guide you through the basics, help you build a solid foundation, and make learning enjoyable and stress-free. My goal is to turn your struggles into strengths and help you see that, with the right approach, anything is possible! Let’s work together to achieve your academic goals!

Teaching methodology

My teaching methodology is designed to keep students engaged, motivated, and stress-free while making learning fun and effective. I use a range of tools to provide a personalized learning experience. For interactive quizzes, I use Menti to create fun, engaging quizzes tailored to each student’s needs. This keeps lessons dynamic and helps me track progress in real-time. I also use Xmind to create concise and comprehensive notes that are perfect for exam preparation, while OneNote helps me organize class notes so that everything is easily accessible. For online lessons, I use a whiteboard on my iPad, which makes explanations visual and interactive, allowing students to follow along more easily. I also prepare cheatsheets—one or two-page documents with key formulas and important points to help my students during revision. I understand how stressful math can be, which is why I focus on creating an environment where students feel comfortable and supported. In my sessions, there’s no such thing as a “stupid question”—every question is an opportunity to learn, and I’m here to guide you through it. My goal is to help students not just learn math but to enjoy it, by breaking down complex topics into easily digestible steps and offering regular encouragement. Whether you’re preparing for exams or simply trying to build confidence, I’m here to make the process enjoyable and rewarding!
