To begin with, we are going to talk about whether the SAT exam reflect your real potential or not. There are many people thinks that the SAT exam is not important because it doesn’t reflect your real potential. Is this real?

First of all, The SAT exam only contain two subjects which is English and Math. Many people are not good in these two subjects, but they are good in other subjects like Science and History. This is a great reason that shows why this exam doesn’t reflect your real potential. Another reason, many students become very stressed because you need to answer fast in this exam which make many students answer wrongly in many questions. Also, due to the shortage of time in this exam, many students don’t have the time to answer many questions. It is unfair to judge students to enter a university or not through this exam because there are many students that are successful in other fields, so I think that the colleges must stop to require this exam to apply to them.

Moreover, why this exam contain only Math and English? Why don’t we make SAT exams that contain other subjects, so each students can choose which SAT they will take? There are many jobs that doesn’t need Math like being a doctor or being a police or a firefighter. There is also no relationship between SAT scores and college performance. I think colleges must pay more attention to the students’ transcript instead paying attention to the SAT scores. Furthermore, many students lose many scholarships because they didn’t do well in the SAT. For Instance, why should a music major lose out on thousands of scholarships because their math score wasn’t high enough?

Perhaps if the colleges pay more attention to the students’ transcripts or their activities that they done in the school, SATs wouldn’t have to play such a big role in a student’s acceptance into a college. We must stop the stress that every student have when they enter the SAT exam because we all know that if the student made terrible in this exam, he may not be accepted to colleges.

To sum up, Sat exams don’t reflect the students’ real potential. We don’t want to stop these exams, but we can make optional for all colleges. We need to take this step to give all students the opportunities to enter colleges and to succeed in their fields.
