"Artificial vs. Genuine Learning"

The use of Artificial Intelligence is on the rise, especially in the school setting. Students are using it to write their papers, pass their tests, and have “someone” to talk to throughout the school day. I use Artificial Intelligence in a much different way. I was very against the idea of it when it was first introduced to me. I have always had a traditional approach to my studies. I learn the best in lectures, reading text, and taking notes. My best work is done paper and pencil. I enjoy organizing my thoughts and being able to have them next to me while I am working on my computer. When I had questions or did not understand something and could not access the teacher, I would spend a large amount of time researching and trying to answer my own questions.
Now, that has changed. My studying has become more organized and efficient. Artificial Intelligence has increased my understanding on many different topics. I tend to study when I am working overnight shifts and when I have questions, professors are not available at that time. I often would forget my questions before my next class time or opportunity to ask. With artificial intelligence, I now have 24/7 access to helpful information. My long scavenger hunts for information when something did not make sense are over. I simply type my question into Chat GPT and use the resource to further my understanding.
Another way that artificial intelligence has changed my learning is the effectiveness of my presentations. I love speaking in front of people but, I struggle having information and visuals to support my speeches. When I started to give presentations, I would have a white slide with a couple of bullet points on it. Now, with the help of artificial intelligence, my presentations are much more visually appealing. The same goes for my spreadsheets. I work a lot with numbers in accounting and struggled to create formulas. The use of AI taught me how to create and use them. Now, my spreadsheets are organized and purposeful.
Artificial Intelligence has caused problems but for me, my education and study habits have been positively impacted. It has helped me to push myself and deepen my understanding for many topics. Some students us artificial intelligence to get out of work and simply pass tests without learning the material. But for me, it is a tool.
