There is a close connection I believe to a high GPA and extracurricular activities. When you maintain a strong grade point average and be involved in activities it shows you can multitask and be successful. To be successful in life I feel a major asset is being a multi-tasker. The need to be successful in life is essential so if I can learn to maintain my 4.1 grade point average and be involved in multiple clubs and play two high school sports. I find it sad in my school to play sports you only need a 2.0 grade point average, yet most athletes I am friends with we all maintain a 4.0 or higher because we are striving for the best we can be. I feel sports are a privilege and you are in school for first and foremost your education so to be able to participate in sports and clubs you should be able to earn that spot. There shouldn’t just be an automatic place on a team because you are barely passing and only focusing on sports. How does this help program you for a career and life? In order to be successful in life I feel I need to be able to multitask and be at the top level on each part. Failure is going to happen there is no doubt that is part of life, but if I didn’t give my hardest on the basic schoolwork how would I learn to do my full potential in a career and be able to multitask with life functions when I hit the point of my own family?

I would say though my priority is grades I have always been proud of what academically I can achieve and that has helped me in acceptance at each college I applied to, plus honors offers. I have been able to obtain a 4.1 GPA and be involved in three honor societies, two varsity sports and several school clubs. In order to continue being successful in school and life I will continue shooting for the stars and doing everything I can be to be higher then average because then I know I will achieve my goals because I have worked hard to get where I am and I am seeing the benefit of my hard work every day now. So in the end my high grade point average is my priority because I will be able to take that work ethic into college and a career.
