I first started looking at colleges when I was a junior in high school. I took tours of the colleges within a drivable distance from my house. While I was on the tours I was looking for three specific things. The first thing I was looking for was how the people treated each other, the activities they had to offer, how many people were spending time outside together, and how many people were walking to class. The second thing I was looking for was the food options they had to offer, like meal plans and the location and availability of the restaurants and dining halls. The third and final thing I was looking for was their options for housing.

During the first tour I observed the people, the food and housing options. Many people were outside walking, talking, studying, and relaxing. There were people who were in the middle of campus doing some sort of activity and listening to music. This university had a lot of food options in each building and all of the dining halls were within a decent walking distance from their housing options. The housing options had a good layout with enough space, and they had a lot of different options. During the second tour I observed many of the same things, nothing stood out to me, and all the criteria was met of this university.

The university I choose is going to be my home for the next four years, I want to have a good community of friends that shares the same hobbies, interests, and goals as me. I hope that I can find that wherever I end up, but I want to have a spacious home, a good meal plan, good dining options, a location with affordable grocery options, and nice people. I know that know that is no way to know what kind of people I will meet and the friends I will end up making but I hope they are true and loyal. I hope I’ve chosen the right university by choosing Oklahoma State. I toured this university a year and a half ago and fell in love with it, it checked all three of my criteria. As a bonus, I’ve met some people who go there now and hopefully they can help me make some new friends and point me in the right direction if I ever need help with anything.
