"I have not changed much in my study habits since AI came out."

I have not changed much in my study habits since AI came out. I have a basic routine that I try to follow every day when it comes to completing homework. Right now, my two biggest subjects are pre-calculus and chemistry. After school, I normally have rifle practice, then off to home. I grab a snack and a drink then pull up my homework assignments. The biggest changes have come from COVID-19. When the school was forced to close its doors and we all had to go online. The school has kept its online policy that states all homework must be listed at least one week out for anybody to be able to complete online. This allows me to plan and stay on top of all my homework. I can get in front of it if I know I will have a busy weekend or will be out of town shooting in a rifle match. Once I’m done with math and science, I will double check all my classes to see if I have any other assignments. If I have English to work on, for example, I will plan a time after supper, but before my shower, to complete the work. This helps me stay on track by having this routine.

I have not used ChatGPT, or any other AL programs/websites. I have talked to some friends that have used the site. They said it was helpful in their English homework. They stated it would help them to form up a reference for the topic if they were just at a loss on how to get it started. They told me they never used it verbatim, as that would be cheating. Most of my friends are in AP classes or dual enrollment, like I am, and don’t want to be caught or labeled a cheater before they even get into college. This is something I could investigate. I normally don’t have a hard time coming up with the words needed for my English papers. However, when I do get off track, I can always ask my mother and father. They can get me going in the right direction, most of the time. When I leave for college, this will change, and AI could be a quick late-night answer to this problem.

As the world moves forward, AL will be in everything we do. Learning how to use it to better yourself, without tossing away your thinking skills, will be a consistent challenge for mankind. Some will embrace the lack of critical thinking, but I plan to keep my skills sharp.
