A normal lesson structure will always begin with a short warm up to gauge where the voice is at and prepare for the lesson depending on the intensity of the material. Next we will have a quick discussion about the song or songs that you’ve chosen for the lesson. Then I will have a listen to your version of the song before giving some feedback and advice on things you might be able to improve. To get the most out of a lesson with me it is good to have a bit of an idea about what it is you want to achieve with the song and we can break it down into simple steps. A speaker or device to play backing tracks on is essential for lessons, if you struggle to find backing tracks I have links to several helpful websites, particularly for musical theatre where not everything can be found on a YouTube karaoke channel.
