I have been really passionate about teaching from a very young age, and I do believe that I possess all the qualities that a teacher needs to have, such as good communication skills and the ability to convey the matter to others with ease. I am pursuing my Doctorate in Mathematics. I did my BSc in Non-Medical Sciences, my MSc in Mathematics, and my M.Phil in Applied Mathematics. Later on, I qualified GATE exams in years 2018 and 2019 and NET Exams in years 2019 and 2022 with Mathematics as my major. I worked as a Math home tutor for 9 years and tutored about 100 students, where I received lots of positive feedback from the students. Even though I am currently working as an Assistant Professor in College, I still provide online math tutoring to students. In addition to Math, I have good knowledge of Chemistry, Physics, and software such as MATLAB.

I seek to create equitable learning environments. Teachers have a unique responsibility to recognize social hierarchies, even those students may be unaware of, and mitigate inequity as much as possible. I strive to create learning environments that are equitable, which to me means students are validated, supported and challenged. I have sought intentional learning opportunities to build my skills in areas like communicating within the context of other cultures, using student-centered and culturally-mediated instruction, and viewing myself as a facilitator of education versus its keeper. I seek never to suffer from “narration sickness” wherein teachers are tasked with depositing their information into students. I have witnessed this paradigm often as a student in STEM courses. Too frequently Electronics professors approach difficult, socially complex issues, such as those related to Device internal physics, from only the scientific perspective. By not incorporating students’ experiences, the significance of the issue is often lost. Higher education, when viewed as a process of critical inquiry performed by students and teachers as equals can be transformative and lead to social change. I therefore teach content centered around discussions on complicated and controversial issues related to earth system processes that draw upon the students’ experiences. This form of progressive, problem-solving education provides a means of empowerment for and increases participation by under-represented groups in lifelong learning. Through my teaching, I strive to provide students with the skills and experience to be independent learners once they have graduated.

As a versatile math tutor with expertise in a variety of subjects ranging from Elementary School Math to AP Calculus BC, I tailor my teaching approach to suit students at all levels - be it school, college, or adult/professional learners. My methodology is characterized by being engaging, practical, interactive, problem-solving, and supportive. I believe in the power of visual learning techniques and utilize tools like whiteboarding to help students visualize concepts clearly and engage directly with the material. By employing a pen tab to solve problems step-by-step on a virtual whiteboard, I make complex math topics more approachable and easier to understand. Through my innovative teaching methods, I aim to not only help students significantly improve their grades but also develop a deeper appreciation for mathematics.
