I'm having a tough time with this. It's a block class that just began last week, and I currently have a 100 in the class, but things are moving quickly. Today, we covered acids and bases, and I'm not feeling very confident about it. However, we're already moving on to the next topic.

I'm a high school senior who took a chemistry class during my sophomore year. I have a placement test coming up for college, and if I pass, I can skip taking chemistry. It's been two years since I studied chemistry, so I don't remember much. I don't have any specific topics I'm struggling with, I just need a general refresher.

I'm using the Heinemann textbook and I want to review either chapter 7 or 8 (about chemical reactions or electrolysis) because that's the part I'm currently not feeling confident about in class.

Rephrasing: Exploring how molecules interact and its impact on a larger scale. Also, studying solution properties, especially colligative properties influenced by the dissolved particles' quantity. I have to analyze them both qualitatively and quantitatively, incorporating various concentration units.

I'm in Chem 121 right now and I'm having a tough time grasping concepts from atoms and molecules to ionic and covalent bonding. Today, we moved on to unit 6 about chemical equation reactions, and I found word problems really challenging.

From my understanding, the mid-semester exam will include the following topics: Module 1: - MO theory and bonding - Applying bonding concepts to answer questions - Transition metal complexes (geometry, magnetism, colour, CFSE/LFSE, high-spin vs low-spin) - Organometallic chemistry and back-bonding/retrodonation - Strategies for tackling short-answer questions in this module Module 2: - Kinetics and determining rate laws - Identifying reaction mechanisms - Acid/base catalysis and how pH affects reaction rates - Ligand exchange, equilibrium/stability constants, and speciation - Knowing when and how to use equations in problem-solving In our session, I would like us to review the key ideas from each part in a clear and organized manner, concentrate on approaching short-answer questions like those on the exam, solve a few example problems together, and pinpoint the most crucial topics to focus on. I find it challenging to apply the concepts to problems rather than just memorizing them.
