About your tutor
Hello! I'm Judah Arrington, a music tutor with a Bachelor's degree in Instrumental Music and Dance. My teaching philosophy revolves around creating a supportive and encouraging environment for students of all levels. I believe in tailoring my approach to each individual, nurturing their strengths and helping them overcome challenges. I'm passionate about helping students discover their creativity, their unique voice, and the tools that will help them express those things in a way that engages and entertains those who listen. When it comes to student engagement, I use a variety of techniques to keep lessons interactive and enjoyable. I also think it's very important to create a safe, accepting, and non-judgmental atmosphere to really give students the chance to learn and grow. Voice and learning voice is such a deeply personal process. In my experience, there's no "wrong" or "right" way to sing. There are simply tools we use to specify how we want to deliver songs and how we want to sound. My job as your vocal coach is to help you create a map of your own voice, and develop and sharpen those tools so that you can feel comfortable when singing. I'm dedicated to helping students discover their passion for music and reach their full potential. Let's learn and grow together!

Teaching methodology
As a Piano, Guitar, and Singing tutor, I believe in a hands-on and practical approach to teaching music. My teaching style is creative, engaging, and interactive, focusing on developing a strong foundation in music theory and technique. I tailor learning activities to each student's preferred genre, encouraging them to create and perform their own music. I like to set achievable goals with my students, ensuring that students are continuously improving. My goal is to help students not only learn how to play an instrument or sing but also to develop the creative expression needed for music. While I've personally mainly focused on playing and studying genres like jazz, blues, R&B, and latin music, I'm well versed in techniques and conventions of a wide variety of genres of music. I tend to take a holistic approach to teaching, especially when teaching voice. My hope is that the things I'm able to show you in our sessions will aid and help you not only in your musical journey, but in your health, confidence, and overall well-being. I'm also a straight up nerd. I love getting technical and detailed - if that's what is called for! If you want to dive deep into not just how things happen, but why? I'm your guy.
