About your tutor
Hello! I'm Dina, a music tutor specializing in guitar (classical-acoustic). I've got a BA in Music and a Masters in Music Performance from the University of Leeds and I've been teaching guitar and piano to students of various ages and levels for more than 8 years. I've also got lots of experience preparing students for different exam boards such as ABRSM, Trinity and Rockschool. I also hold a diploma in Music Harmony and Counterpoint which has helped me gain a deeper understanding of how music is composed and explain what makes each sound/style/genre unique. As a performer myself, I'm mainly interested in Latin American, romantic and modern repertoire and I've participated in different ensembles (guitar and clarinet, guitar duets, guitar and voice). I'm passionate about teaching because I believe in the important role that music education plays in shaping ones character and personality and helping students explore their creativity and express themselves. Finally, I also find it very fulfilling seeing students progress, reach their goals and achieve their full potential. If you'd like to start on this journey or take your music skills to the next level then please feel free to contact me! Thank you, Dina

Teaching methodology
As a guitar tutor, I'm confident in my teaching skills and I cater to students of all ages and levels. My teaching approach is creative, flexible and engaging and is tailored to the student's needs, skills, learning styles and preferences, as I believe each learner is unique. My teaching philosophy revolves around creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students can freely explore their creativity and express themselves through music and playing. I see myself more as a mentor and a coach rather than a teacher, as I can provide not only practical help and guidance but also valuable support and encouragement. Students enjoy our lessons together because of the supportive environment that I create and my ability to explain and break down complex concepts and techniques in an easily accessible way. I strongly believe in problem-solving and helping my students develop both technical skills and creativity in performance and composition. Thanks to my studies in performance and music theory background, I also aim at a holistic approach, combining theory and practice. My methodology is designed to make learning enjoyable and effective, making sure students not only learn but also retain and apply their knowledge in a practical manner.
