About your tutor

My whole life I shared a deep admiration for my language tutor, most in particular my Spanish and my English ones. It was incredible to me how different learning a language can be depending on your own native language. In my case, I grew up in Madrid (Spain) so my first language has always been Spanish and English my second. Having grown up speaking Spanish doesn't mean it isn't necessary to learn the language from a more specific approach. And the truth is that it is a beautiful language. Due to this realisation over the years and as I grow in my professional career, I have always had a soft spot for languages and always wanted to teach them. I first jumped into this journey when the COVID-19 pandemic hit. I thought how many people would still need help with their progress on their language journeys and so I started teaching online. Despite of momentarily stopping from teaching a year ago, I have never forgotten about the wonderful time I had with my students and knew I would get back to it eventually. Here I am! Incredibly excited to meet you all and start our learning journey together.

Teaching methodology

I have had multiple teachers over my student years and always came to the same conclusion: visual and interactive learning exercises will always be more beneficial for students. Us humans we are creative beings that constantly search for stimulates. That is why it is so common to loose focus on a class from time to time, because they are not always as interactive as one would want them to be. I have always approached my teaching methods through visual comparison, memory games and case scenario situations. This way, everything that we had to learn from theory (because there will always be theory to learn) we will put into practice on a way that would make us think. I don't believe in exams. However there are multiple ways to test the evolution of one's studies. Every week we will put to practice what has been learned and will be referenced back the week after that and the week after that. This way, there will be a time in which we won't have to think wether we know a word, verb or adjective. You will just say it!
