Architecture Training for 3D Modelling, Interior Design, and Technical Skills

The Tutor guided the student through various SketchUp tools to redesign a room, focusing on creating windows and aligning objects. The student practiced rotating, copying, and aligning windows, as well as using the line and offset tools to create custom window shapes. The following is a summary of a lesson. Natasha guided a learner from Lancaster through creating custom furniture models in Revit, covering extrusion, sweeps, blends, and revolved shapes. The learner practiced making a table and learned to apply materials and create callouts for detailed views. Natasha assigned them to practice creating two custom models using the techniques learned.

During their recent lesson, Natasha assisted Francesca with using Revit to lay out an office floor plan. The instruction covered essential skills such as wall creation, room tagging, and door placement within the software. Francesca gained practical experience in creating rooms to specific square footage requirements and duplicating design elements. They plan to continue their work on the floor plan in their upcoming lesson.

Natasha and Hang discussed Australian cabinet construction standards, focusing on walk-in wardrobes and kitchens. Natasha was tasked with drawing up a standard walk-in wardrobe design, incorporating both open-shelf and closed-door elements based on a sample drawing. Hang will review the design later and provide further guidance.

Natasha and Francesca collaborated on a Revit project, focusing on essential functionalities like phasing, creating walls and doors, and understanding elevation views. Francesca specifically gained practical experience in differentiating between existing and new constructions, creating walls with specific properties, and utilizing phasing to manage various project stages within Revit. Natasha committed to sending short videos demonstrating wall placement, and they arranged a follow-up lesson to discuss furniture placement.

Assistance was provided to a student from the University of Texas at Dallas with resolving formatting issues in Canva for a design assignment and accessing SketchUp files through Layout. They troubleshooted printing problems in Canva and accessing 3D models in SketchUp by unlocking the file in Layout and opening it in the correct version of SketchUp. The instructor will adjust the Canva file and send it to the student.
