Hello! I'm Lara Taylor, a dedicated tutor specializing in teaching English as a Second Language as well as Reasoning Through Language Arts. I have extensive experience teaching ESL to Chinese students, particularly those with very limited to intermediate oral English proficiency. For the seven years that I did classroom teaching in China, I also had a brief online teaching stint with the same university kids at the same university that I last taught at. In both instances, I made sure to focus on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for beginners. During my time in China, I taught at various universities and developed and implemented lesson plans, made or modified learning assessment rubrics tailored to the needs of my English learners. With a diploma in TESOL, I cater to students at the school, college, and adult/professional levels. My student-centered teaching philosophy revolves around creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued and motivated to develop their potential. I employ personalized teaching strategies to cater to individual learning styles, ensuring that each student achieves their academic goals.
