About your tutor

Hello, I'm Sean Lee, a Music tutor specializing in Violin and Viola. With a Bachelor of Music with Honours, I believe in creating a supportive learning environment where students of all levels can thrive. I have played the Violin for 16 years and the Viola for 6 years, so I have a great understanding of difficulties one may face when learning each instrument. Other than teaching, you can also find me performing occasionally in places around London such as the Barbican or Churches, playing in Large orchestras, smaller ensembles or even Solo. Outside of music, I enjoy cooking, and playing video games.

Teaching methodology

As a violin and Viola tutor, I cater to students of all levels. My teaching methodology is rooted in being empathetic, practical, patient, adaptable, and focused on problem-solving. I provide personalized audio and video feedback on musical performances, emphasizing technique, expression, and creativity. I aim to help students perform, or simply enjoy music more deeply. By evaluating each student's musical abilities and interests, I create a tailored learning plan to ensure their growth and development in the most effective way possible. A common way I like to encourage learning is by utilizing online resources, such as Youtube and Spotify as they provide multiple performances of the same piece. Sometimes, browsing on Youtube can also uncover music that you have never heard before. Music Education is always evolving, tutors and students should always try to implement and take advantage of these resources!
