Transforming ESL Learning with Engaging Interactive Approach

Hi there! I'm Andy Pugliese, an English tutor with a focus on Music Lyrics, Conversation and general English. With a diploma in English Translation and also many countries where I've lived or stayed (England, Germany, Brazil, The Netherlands, Austria, Denmark), I am passionate about teaching and helping students from all over the world to communicate and also have fun in the process of learning to do so. My teaching philosophy revolves around getting to know you, and to focus on things you like such as bands, films, books and topics of your interest in order to use that to encourage you to learn new words, vocabulary, expressions, tenses and useful tools that help you improve for your job, daily life or even just for mere curiosity. My number one priority is to co-create a supportive and interactive work ambience, where you can share our thoughts, ask anything without feeling ashamed, make a lot of mistakes so that you can learn from them, and clear all your doubts or even share them with me, so that we can look for the answer together as a team. Whether you are an adult/professional, college student, or at any level of English proficiency, I am here to support and guide you in this learning path. Life is a journey, not a destination. We have to fall in love with the journey, and we'll eventually get there. Let's embark on this language adventure together!

For many years now, my teaching methodology is centered around creativity, interactivity, conversation and problem-solving activities. I believe in utilizing e-books, music lyrics, videos, and also movies. There will be a lot of art in our classes, because I'm mostly an artist with an English degree. I start by assessing students' reading and writing abilities to create a customized learning plan that aligns with their interests and goals. Drawing on my background in literary analysis and effective communication strategies, I focus on enhancing reading comprehension and fostering effective writing skills. My teaching style is interactive and engaging, encouraging students to actively participate in the learning process and always reminding them of enjoying it while it lasts. My strongest point lies in the fact that my link with art gives me a different point of view regarding language learning. I don't believe in learning anything without a pinch of love, and that's something that I try to communicate in every single class and to every single person that I have a chat with. Think about listening to a song of your favourite band and feeling the music, getting that engagement with the artists and the lyrics. That's what I'm looking for in my lessons with you.
