Hello, I'm Jane Whiteing, an English tutor with a Bachelor's degree in Human Services. My teaching philosophy revolves around creating a supportive and interactive learning environment where students feel empowered to express themselves. I specialize in ESL, ACT Reading, and English for all levels. I believe in personalized learning tailored to each student's unique needs and learning style. By incorporating real-life examples and practical exercises, I aim to make the learning experience engaging and enjoyable. My approach with my students is unique because each student is unique to me. As a teacher, my goal and responsibility is my student and their success and I aim to meet that goal. As I teach, I elaborate and explain so that my student comes to full comprehension of the lesson. For if the student doesn't comprehend, then the learning has not been achieved. I am dedicated to fostering a growth mindset in my students, encouraging them to embrace challenges and celebrate their progress. As an ESL, ACT Reading, and English tutor, I believe in teaching students at all levels by being interactive, engaging, concept-focused, and detailed. I provide honest feedback to help students improve their skills. I use interactive and multimedia resources to enhance their writing abilities. I offer personalized comments on strengths and areas for improvement in essays. I tailor my teaching approach to match students' interests and goals, making the learning experience more effective and enjoyable for them. When and if students come across a concept that they do not understand, I make it a priority to provide explanation and examples so that my student will understand and even more, apply it. Understanding and comprehension are KEY elements to education. If those two elements are left out, there won't be progress.
