About the tutor
Hello! I'm Aimee Casahuilca, a passionate yoga tutor who teaches Forrest Yoga. I have been teaching yoga for over 3 years with many students at different ages and levels. During my experience of teaching I have learnt so much about what yoga can do and how the body can heal itself. My body has become more and more flexible and free in the process and I want others to experience what that feels like. It is amazing what the body can do when you work with it. You do not need to force anything, you can work with where your body is at. Forrest Yoga is a mix of different yoga styles created by Ana Forrest that are effective in healing the body in every aspect (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual) and are safe for almost anyone and can be done at any level which are fun and challenging. I foster student engagement through interactive and personalised lesson plans, incorporating elements of mindfulness, breathwork, and movement to enhance their understanding and experience of yoga. I strive to cultivate a sense of community within my classes, encouraging open communication and collaboration amongst students. As a Yoga tutor, I am dedicated to providing an interactive, structured, and systematic approach to teaching. My teaching style is demonstrative and engaging, catering to students of all levels. I focus on aligning my learning plan with the individual needs of each student, using progress tracking to improve flexibility and strength. I provide encouraging comments to foster a positive learning environment, allowing my students to be fully engaged in yoga classes. I teach students to become aware of their breath and body on a deeper level, to feel through any stuck energy or tension and be in tune with what their body needs and how to best do the poses for the stage they are at. I encourage them to enjoy the process and let go of the outcome. I also teach them to be aware of thoughts and let go of negative ones that may hold them back in life. Yoga is about presence and being fully connected to the moment. It is about letting go of ego and being in the now, not about how good you are at doing complex poses. Whatever is learnt in the class can be taken into the students life as a way of living and being. One is taught to be present with challenges and face themselves through everything. To enjoy the simple life and have gratitude and peace within themselves.
