Math Maverick: Interactive Problem-Solving for All Levels!

I have my bachelor's degree in secondary mathematics education and my master's degree in curriculum and instruction. My experiences include teaching and tutoring in public and private schools and centers in elementary, middle and high school level. Specifically: 3 years in public middle school, 1 year at public high school, 5 years in private middle and high school, and 5 years at private tutoring institution. My favorite moments are when students' truly understand math and feel confident in their skill mastery. I also love math applications which is why word problems are my favorite! I like to teach problem solving strategies through modeling information visually and learning how to structure real world problems with algebra. My teaching style is very interactive, otherwise you can loose student focus and enagement. I teach online using pdf editing with Kami and always send annotated documents to students upon request. I am also interested in and experienced with voice-over work and since I finished my public school teaching assignment this prior year I have devoted my time to voice-overs and tutoring online. I also enjoy traveling, learning new languages, cooking and baking, drawing, and humanitarian work/volunteering.

I am a flexible teacher and can accomodate student needs. I can provide tutoring for homework or assignment help, test preparation for entrance exams or standardized testing such as the SAT and ACT, as well as general tutoring for building understanding and skill mastery in any grade-level or topic of mathematics from elementary math to Algebra 2. Please note that my expertise and experience does not extend past Algebra 2 content, such as AP Statistics, AP Calculus, or any other math-major courses outside of general college math or remedial college math courses. I can work with materials that you provide or create materials that will help you meet your goals. I believe in teaching with multimodality- with different mathematical representations and graphs/images or through using discussion or writing out of steps. Depending on your learning style, we can make the tutoring session most fitting for you. Some people are very visual and need diagrams, some are verbal and need to discuss problem solving steps, and some are more straightforward or algebraic and can represent with equations and solve with formulas.
