Your english tutor - Emily

I currently tutor in ESL and Spanish. I am deeply passionate about languages and literature, especially Spanish and English. I am also very interested in history, culture, art, and social studies. I am confident I can foster good studying skills and confidence in my students. I hope to have the opportunity to help you learn! I have a CELTA certification from Cambridge University to teach English as a Second Language. I have taught English to native Spanish speakers in Ecuador for about 8 years. I also have experience teaching English to other language groups online. I have a C2 level of proficiency in Spanish with seven years or more of experience living abroad in Quito, Ecuador. I have a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Michigan State University. While studying Spanish in high school and in college I was awarded several honors in regards to my Spanish language studies and abilities. As well, I also graduated from MSU with honors, a 3.7 GPA, and an Outstanding Student in Spanish Award. If you would like to learn from someone who has had the chance to see and live in another part of the world, I would love to be your tutor. I will make sure my time tutoring will provide students with applicable advice and knowledge in their studies now and in the future (whether in the U.S. or in another country).

English classes quick guide

My approach to teaching Spanish and ESL involves using a variety of effective methods to help students learn the language. This includes immersive techniques, communicative language teaching, task-based learning, and integrating cultural elements to make the learning experience engaging and relevant. I personalize my instruction in lessons to meet each student's needs and often use technology and games to enhance the effectiveness of the teaching. I use a lot of positive reinforcement and feedback to help students stay confident while making mistakes, which is a big part of learning a language.
