About your tutor
I am currently completing a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance and Music Education. As a violinist, I have performed around New York and Atlanta. I started violin at the age of six with a Suzuki Violin instructor, and I am hoping to obtain my Suzuki certification by the time I finish my undergraduate studies. I realized my passion for teaching around age 15, and during the COVID-19 pandemic, I began tutoring mainly beginner students. As my time as an educator progresses, I am looking forward to working with a variety of students and abilities, giving them an outlet, love of learning, and discipline that has defined my life for as long as I can remember.

My teaching plans are highly individualized based on each student I teach. With total beginners, I will spend extensive time on posture. With beginner-intermediate students, I will review musical fundamentals such as scales, 1-2 octave arpeggios, staff notation, key signatures, time signatures, up bows and down bows. With intermediate students, I will begin to branch out into musicality through shifting technique, vibrato. With advanced students, I will offer tonal analysis of their repertoire, reviewing scales in thirds, sixths, octaves, and tenths within acceleration exercises, allow for improvisation, and collaborate with the student to interpret the music in front of them beyond articulations and dynamics.
