About your tutor
My name is Gastón, from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I work as a guitar teacher since 2017. I also do session gigs, play in local bands and own a Home Studio. Currently I am studying for the bachelor's degree on Music, orientated to Jazz Guitar at the EMPA (Avellaneda's Popular Music School). Mainly I come from a Rock background but I also studied some Tango, Argentinean Folk and all the styles born from Blues (Funk, Soul, Hard Rock, Alternative Rock, Metal, Pop, etc.). In addition I have also taken Drums and Singing, and currently Piano lessons. My lessons are fully personalized both in terms of Music Theory, Techniques and Repertoire. The idea is to adapt the lessons to your needs, objectives and music taste. So you can learn at your own pace and with the music that you like. And most importantly is for you to have fun in the process. Music is my greatest passion, it is a universe on its own. I love to help other people learn all that I know and encourage them to take the step to get into this wonderful world. I believe everybody can learn how to play the guitar. All you need is some patience, perseverance and good guidance. So if you are considering it, do not hesitate to give it a try! I am sure you will not regret it!

Teaching methodology
Learn to play guitar with the music YOU like. Every person lives its own reality. So my methodology is unique for each student. I adapt my classes to: student needs, lifestyle, preferred music styles and required techniques for his/her goals. I strongly recommend to learn some music theory and apply it to the instrument. However, it is not a must, as I am aware that not everyone has the interest and the time for it. The same applies to music notation. Learning to read sheet music is very useful but it may be more intricate. So I usually work with guitar tabs and use only the rythmic side of the sheet music notation. The initial idea is to divide each class into at least 2 parts: techniques and repertoir. We can add a third part which would be music theory. But as said, that depends on each case. If needed, a lesson may be complemented with some videos of the parts we studied so you can save them and also play over them. This way we can compensate the fact that we are not able to play live in the same room or at the same time due to the tiny delay we have in the videocalls. . And also you will be able to ask me any doubts or questions in between lessons. My main goal is to keep your music journey fun and educational. Everybody can learn to play guitar.
