I offer private English lessons for high school, university, and adult students. My tutoring philosophy is to simultaneously develop every student's abilities and self-confidence. While all my lessons will be a mix of conceptual understanding and practice exercises, I tailor my lessons to each student's individual needs and goals. For example, I might recommend different resources, adjust the type of practice we do, or adjust my explanations. Additionally, because I firmly believe language and culture are inseparable, I include cultural elements in all of my lessons. I don't pretend to know everything, and I often use opportunities when I don't know the answer to walk through problem-solving skills with my students. This is because learning, especially language learning, is a collaborative process, and it helps keep students as engaged as possible. Feedback is a crucial part of my lessons. I always give productive feedback to my students, and I am always appreciative of similar feedback from students and parents to improve the quality of my sessions.
