Problem-solving English lessons with hands-on practical focus

Hello! My name is Jessica (Jess) and I am a recent Brandeis University graduate (summa cum laude) with a double major in theatre arts and sociology; along with a minor in women's and gender studies. I have been tutoring since my secondary school years, both formally and informally. Experience includes: SAT reading/verbal, academic English, English literature, homework support, and ESL. I feel so privileged to be able to support and watch the amazing journeys of my students. They inform my work and pedagogy immensely.

I strive to create lessons that put my students' needs first, as the learning requirements of each student are different. I believe I am a patient and compassionate educator who has no problem taking the time to answer your questions or review a concept again for clarity. I use a variety of teaching skills, from mini-lectures, improvisation, presentations, to games. Additionally, I love to hear feedback from my students of what activities they enjoy and want to engage more in!
