About your tutor

I am a current undergraduate computer science student at the University of Toronto with International Scholar Award and President Scholar of Excellence. I am also taking Associate's Degree of Computer Science in the University of the People with full-scholarship. I have completed my Grade-12 Ontario Secondary School Diploma with 98.5% average and perfect score of 100% in (Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors and Computer Science II). I have secured Mathematics Olympiad at the Regional Level as a school representative at Grade-9. Besides, I have also won annual outstanding awards. During my gap years after High School, I worked as a Mathematics Tutor at a local non-profit organization where I tutored secondary high school Maths (Pre-calculus, Algebra, Calculus, Functions, and Vectors) for both one-to-one and group sessions. Weekly, I held discussion meeting with their parents and received positive feedback from them. Moreover, I have also worked as Part-time English Speaking Trainer to various local students and I received lots of positive feedback at the end of the course. I like to tutor and share my knowledge. I am also really interested in learning new things and have a good understanding of programming languages with multiple web development projects and hackathon prizes.

Class overview

I always try to keep an open and positive environment. I would rather want my student to see me as a senior friend rather than as a tutor so that they feel more comfortable talking and questioning their doubts. I offer flexible teaching methods depending on individual's student learning style. I always try to relate Mathematics to real-life in my tutoring sessions. I believe the key to ace a Mathematical concept is through failure, learning from mistakes and constant practice. I also love to provide any assistance anytime outside of the class session.

Laura learned 15 days ago

Lesson date:

Zay Lin Aung tutored Viviana Perez, focusing on complex number operations, graphing inequalities, and solving quadratic equations. Viviana practiced applying the distributive property, finding intercepts, and using the vertex and quadratic formulas. They worked through several problems from Viviana's final exam review.

Lesson date:

Zay Lin Aung assisted Viviana Perez with polynomial problems, including applying the rational zero theorem, factoring using long division and the box method, finding intercepts, and analyzing end behavior. Viviana practiced these concepts with problem sets. Zay helped clarify the interpretation of end behavior using limits and infinity notation.

Lesson date:

Zay Lin Aung and Viviana Perez reviewed polynomials, including finding intercepts, multiplicity, end behavior, graphing, polynomial long division, and an introduction to the Rational Zero Theorem and Remainder Theorem. Due to time constraints, the application of the Rational Zero Theorem and Remainder Theorem was demonstrated but not fully completed.
