About your french tutor
I am currently holding permanent residency in Canada. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in French from the Yangon University of Foreign Languages in Myanmar. I was fortunate to be awarded a scholarship to continue my post-graduate studies and pursued a Masters in Education Science (Métiers de l'Enseignement, de l'Éducation et de la Formation), with an emphasis in teaching young learners at the elementary school level at the Faculté d’Éducation of the University of Montpellier-2 in France. Upon my return to Myanmar, I was an academic coordinator for a local NGO named the Myanmar Mobile Education (MyME) leading a team to teach underprivileged children. Specifically, I designed and developed a curriculum for a Non-Formal Education setting, provided teaching techniques and evaluated the performance of the teachers. I worked at French Institute (Institut français de Birmanie) as a French language teacher. I also taught at the French International School for an academic year. From 2016 to 2022, I have had the privilege of growing professionally with the elementary school of the International School Yangon (ISY), teaching French as a Second Language. I have also been assigned to develop the Cultural Studies program as a new subject adapted to the interdisciplinary curriculum and I have been teaching the social studies related Culture and Communication subject from pre-kg to grade five. I have adopted several teaching methods including Total Physical Response Storytelling to teach language in different scenarios, as well as using technology and online teaching materials. During the pandemic, the ISY has continued to provide both virtual and hybrid learning experiences. I have been teaching French as a private tutor since 2008, after completing my Bachelor degree. I continue to teach students of all different age groups and abilities. I became a certified teacher with TV5MONDE and I use a multitude of resources to allow students to learn about francophone culture. In 2018, with the recommendation of the director of Studies of the French Institute in Myanmar, I implemented a project on “Edutainment Television Programme” at Canal Plus, the French owned multichannel television service located in Myanmar. The programme provides knowledge based fun learning experiences for local children. I am passionate about teaching, and making meaningful connections with students, striving to provide them with opportunities to develop life-long and transferable skills with a particular focus and consideration for intercultural exchanges. I am a good team member who works in collaboration with the other subject teachers to create the best possible learning opportunities.
