Prabhjot - Know your tutor

Greetings! I am Prabhjot Kaur having a profound focus on Mathematics and Physics. I am pursuing a PhD degree in Mathematical Physics in the department of Physics and Astronomy from University of Manitoba. During my academic journey of Master of Science in Mathematics from TIET, with the realm of Astrophysics, I dedicated my efforts to trace the orbit for the predicted collision between Milky Way and Andromeda galaxy. This remarkable pursuit demanded a profound understanding of advanced mathematical concepts, MATLAB coding, Numerical Techniques and Differential Equations as indispensable tools. My early professional engagement as a System Engineer at INFOSYS further fortified my technical and programming abilities. During the Campus Placement Program at TIET 2022, I got placed as a System Engineer for excellent coding skills. Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I derive immense joy from the realms of art, craft, cooking, stitching, knitting, video editing and photography. These creative outlets provide me with the opportunity to explore new dimensions and unlock fresh perspectives. I have 3+ years of experience of teaching in online mode. I am always open to new collaborations, research opportunities and connections within and outside my fields of interest. I look forward to engaging with professionals and learners, sharing knowledge and contributing to the advancement of scientific understanding.

Class overview

I start each lesson by setting clear goals so my students know what to expect. To tailor my approach, I assess their understanding and adapt the material to their needs. My focus is on building a strong conceptual foundation, using relatable examples and analogies. I encourage active participation through questions and discussions to keep them engaged. I believe in problem-based learning, so I often present real-world scenarios for students to solve. This fosters critical thinking and application of concepts. I provide regular feedback to guide their progress and promote a growth mindset, emphasizing that mistakes are part of learning. By integrating technology and online resources, I make complex ideas more accessible and engaging. Throughout, I stay updated with the latest developments in math and physics to keep my teaching fresh and relevant. Ultimately, I aim to create a supportive environment that inspires curiosity and confidence in my students.

Prabhjot and Keshari dedicated their time to pre-calculus, tackling problems centered on function composition. Their work included combining functions through addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, alongside determining the domain of these newly formed functions. They further honed their skills by finding f(g(x)) and g(f(x)) and by deconstructing composite functions to identify their individual components. Another lesson has been set for Monday at the same time.
